Lots of useful information for you!

MUST READ!! Instructions on how to use the oven, fire, etc. AND
Hints, Help & Answers about pets, disabled, children, plugs, etc.

Pictures and description of our gite. What do other people say about it? All sorts of emergency and general information (the first "at gite" page). A whole inventory!

Inventory

In a nutshell, most things, including linen and towels if you asked for them are there. Otherwise bring a double and two single duvet covers, plus pillow cases and undersheets. Another set for the double sofa bed if you're using it. And towels - bathroom and kitchen.

When I say 'there is' or 'there are' I mean 'there should be'. We do provide it but things do 'walk' and get broken. Hopefully we've had time to replace it (if you've told us!)!

There are electric sockets, lights and electric heaters throughout. Everything is electric.

Instructions for things are here.

Outside

The BBQ awaits you - please use the tools for the job and not the kitchen ones. There's usually some charcoal and firelighters left in the Cave (unless the last lot used them all up!).
In case they've been put away - look in the woodshed (BBQ end of the cottage) for table and chairs and parasol. Please be sure to put the parasol away each night so it doesn't disappear in the wind.

Cave

This is the room by the gate. It uses a key in the dresser. One mountain bike with helmet in the Cave. Odd tools! Badminton, boules and whatever else people have left. This is where you'll put your rubbish in a black bag at the end of the week, please, in the various bins. They recycle here, too!

Please don't use the ladder to explore upstairs. There is no upstairs. Nor will there be a ceiling downstairs if you go up there. There are chemicals - white spirit and woodworm stuff etc., sharp tools and so on. The Cave is MY place but YOUR responsibility if you wish to go in there for badminton gear, the bike, etc. Please don't let children in there.

Lounge & Dining Room

There is wood in the store round behind the dining room for the fire.  Also there is some nice garden furniture there.

Matches, candles and firelighters in the Dutch cupboard by the fire.
Seating - a 3 seater and a 2 seater sofa (which is a good sofa bed).
There's also a good atlas of France, two local Ordnance Survey type maps of the area, several guidebooks to Normandy, the Loire and one to the War sites, and other leaflets. New CD/Radio too!
There are lamps, a clock and a TV (3 French channels - sorry!). DVD player provided (bring your own DVDs). There's also an internet lead to the phone socket in the kitchen. It does cost!

The dining room has a small dresser, trolley, a huge bread plate, a long table and pews. You can seat 6 easily or 8 small or very friendly people.

Master Bedroom

Double, ancient French bed, duvet, four pillows - so comfortable! It's soft and though it doesn't look like it, it's flat when you're in it. We use an orthopaedic hard one at home yet love and sleep well on this one. Duvet, pillows. Tables either side with lamps, large wardrobe (armoire) with mirror. Style!

Second Bedroom

Twin beds, duvets, pillows, wardrobe. Tabel and lamp. Modern!
In this bedroom are the store cupboards. The one nearest the window is ours and isn't full of our secret supply of whisky and wine. The other two have spare pillows, duvet and sheets for the sofa bed and extras should you need them + blankets.

Bathrooms

The usual! Don't forget to bring towels if you didn't order them. Toilet rolls are there (spares in the kitchen dresser).

Kitchen

Hopefully everything you'll need. Oven, hobs, microwave. Fridge, freezer. Kettle, toaster, coffee maker. Mixer, iron. Cutlery, kitchen cutlery. Crockery, cooking crockery, pans. Cleaning clothes, sponges, mop, brush, small hoover, cleaning fluids, etc. Spares under the sink. Spare bulbs, plugs, toilet rolls etc. are in the kitchen dresser. Was there something else you wanted?

There should be leftovers of coffee, tea, salt, pepper, oil and who knows what else. We start the season with some, and assume people will leave a few leftovers for the next occupant. Nice leftovers, of course; you are expected to clean up your rubbish, please! Out of date stuff (especially bits of icecream) - please bin!
